May Madness Weekend May 1-2 2010

Last weekend was a double tournament weekend, on Saturday I played in the Eastern Mass Championships at Pye Brook Disc golf couse in Topsfield MA. The course is open for the mostpart with steep slopes and some tricky pin placements. I was solid on the course playing both the rounds at par. 58-58 for a 19 hole course. I won the Advanced Masters division of six guys by eight throws. My friend Bill Dunne won in his first Pro Masters outing which was excellent and Mike siamond playing with me came in second. Great round for all to be had.
On Sunday played in the Amesbury Pines Open at Amesbury Town park in MA. Just 15 minues further from Topsfield it is the opposite kind of play. An old course, second public course installed in MA. It is in a old grove of Pines and is a tree filled challenge. I played descent there also shooting a 56-56 but unfortunately for me Dave White shot three throws better and I had to settle for second in the 10 strong division.
Both these tournaments are well run events, there is plenty of swag given away and the organization keeps things running smoothly. I even took half the Ace pot in a throw off at the end of the Pines, a cool 73 dollars.
Both days were sunny and warm, just perfect playing weather.
