The Sapbucket, Waterbury VT.

I drove up to VT on Friday so I could get a round in at the course before the Saturday tournament. It was cloudy and damp although I was not rained on. The long grass on the course was wet and hole 1 was sloppy with mud. I had not been to the course since 2005 and my game and the course were different then. Previously my best rounds were a 62 and a 66, I expected better this time. I played everything from the long blue tees and in the practice round shot a 58. There were some extra shot to figue out the right flight lines after my initial shot which I always counted and played from. Course seemed easier than I remembered it, of course I was just starting to play again in 05 and had yet to find that distance form.
On tourney day it was still very overcast although the forcast had some breaking up of the clouds in the afternoon. My first round was solid, although there were three times I gave back strokes. I played par golf at 54 and was sitting on the second card after the round. When I play Am1 I am not expecting a lot, I hope to beat half the field and that is about all. This being a tier C pdga event every person I beat and myself count for 5 points each in PDGA Pro Points. This is important because I am trying to get 400 points to be invited to the PDGA World Championships next year. If I played Am Masters I would receive 4 points a person.
So when I finished the second round with a slightly off 57 and finished 10th I finished with 90 points, those plus my other tournaments have me somewhere around 180 points so far this year. Really enjoyed the well run tournament, the beautiful views and the fact that my back did not get in the way of my play.
