Prepping for Borderland this weekend!

On Wednesday I got down to Borderland State Park for some disc golf. There is a tournament there this weekend and I wanted to get some practice on the Blue (long) course. By blind luck I ran into my sister Lee at the park office. She had left messages for me to meet her but I never got them so by chance she got her wish. I played the long blue to blue course while she played blue to white. I did not play poorly but did have 2 sixes on holes 2 and 7 that put me up to a 73 for the round, I can see taking 4 off that score just by paying a bit more attention while playing. On hole two I threw to the white basket on my second throw putting me totally out of position. Then on seven I tried a disc that I do not normally throw on the drive and again ended up way out of position. The course plays 8585 feet blue to blue so the 73 I shot was not horrible but really I have to be in the sixties to have a good round. The front half was a killer in general in the round. I shot a 39 front 9 and the recovered for a 34 back nine. Lee shot an 84 Blue to White and at one point had 3 sixes in a row. Ouch!
After that round and short on time we took three discs each and played a jogging round on the white to white course. I shot a 53 and Lee a 67, Of course I had handicapped her getting 15 throws so she beat me by one. Overall very nice practice rounds. I look forward to playing in the Borderland Spring Fling on Saturday.
