Dorchester MA, Sunday and leaving NH behind.
Sunday and I was sore as can be having not played in so long before yesterdays NH tournament. I went to bed late but did not have to be in town until 11am or so so slept i until 8:30am. Great day today, the sun was out and temps were in the 70s with nice breezes in the Neponset area. Pope John Paul park is on the site of what used to be an incinarator and the Neponset drive in. It is now a wide green space along the Neponset river, with walking paths, soccer fields and now disc golf. Although still in the proving stages the DCR has been working to introduce disc golf to the city of Boston. We had a nine hole course put together with borrowed baskets and two tees for each hole. We played the 18 as a demonstration that DG and other uses can coexist. During the event today was a kite festival and the two seemed to coexist just fine. Sandy Redd organized a nice little tournament that 12 people played in. The course was a bit breezy and there were a lot of people in the park but in all it seemed to go well.
I played very well today sore though I was. I shot a 50, 5 under on the short tees and then 1 over on the long tees. Played with Chris and Dave White and both guys were good company. Looking forward to the day when there is a permanent course in place there.
