Pyramids 19 Oh boy that sucked

Last weekend I played in the Pyramids 19 tournament in Leicester MA. I wish I could report my great win there but I am afraid that it was not to be. I started on hole 2 and was pretty happy I got to play with Sean Breslin and Mike Dussault. Mike plays an amazing game and it was a pleasure just to see him throw, Sean is one of the nicest guys I have met in NEFA.
Play went decent but not great for me, my best at this course is a 63 on the long course and 59 on the short. On this day I was just bad. The long I can not complain too much about. I was within 5 of my best so no camplaints on that, shot a 67. Problem was I hit my hand really hard on a small tree on hole twelve and then my game was not the same. I was playing decent with the chance of really beating my best score but did not have anything below a four on a hole after my hand swelled up.
Round two continued the assault on my nerves, I played awful and finished the short course with a 68, ouch! This was so bad I really considered going home. My hand was a balloon, I was pissy but trying not to say anything out loud, and fading fast. When the event ended all I could think about was getting away from this place like it was the courses fault. I was a bit of a sore loser and feel bad about it now. It was just I have not played that poorly in the 3 years I have been doing tournaments.

Borderland Spring Fling

On the Friday before this event I was at the doctor as my elbow was so painful. I was thinking about withdrawing but hung in for the Saturday event, playing through the pain. Sure enough I have a case of tennis elbow and will see a sports injury specialist on Wednesday. Saturday was a great day weather wise with temps around 80 degrees f and light winds. This event is wonderfully organized and I was really looking forward to playing. No real practice or warm up. There were only 2 Adv. Masters and because of that I should have switched to Am1 so I could get more PDGA points. I didn't really think about it though until we were in play and thus too late.
I get 4 points for myself and anyone I beat in the division I am registered in playing Advanced Master but there were only two of us. If I played Am1 I would have gotten 5 points per person. I would play the blue to blue in the second round instead of the Blue to white latout. Suppose I did my average on that 74 and combine that with my 52 on the white to white first round that would be 126 and I would have beaten 15 AM1 players so 45points instead of the 8 staying in the division I played in. I really have to think these things through before gameday when it is a PDGA event.

Still I played well..from memory
White to white 3-3-3-3-4-3-3-3-4-3-2-3-3-2-2-3-3-2-52

Blue to white 3-3-3-4-3-3-4-3-4-3-3-4-5-3-3-4-3-3-61

The elbow hurt particualy on drives but it was managable. 1st place Adv. Masters .

Recent play!

Well I have been playing but not adding entries to the blog, so this is to catch up. The main thing that is happening is that I have a pretty bad elbow, so bad in fact that I am going to a doctor this week to get it evaluated. Read more about the Pain in The Pain Blog Here are the score from a couple rounds at Devens:

Joy and I went to the monthly Borderland tournament and played, Joy losing her #14 bag tag for the #70, there was no handicapping for her so she played Am and came in last with a 72. I came in with #39 and the thew a 58. Tied for first but lost in a two hole playoff. We all played the Blue to the White configuration since it will be featured in the Borderland Spring Fling on June 14th. Scores amd Standings follow:
